Why I Blog.

For of him unto whom much is given much is required… D&C 82:3

My Heavenly Father and beloved Savior, Jesus Christ have forever been my protectors.  Through darkened periods of life, they brought illumination and helped me to persevere into the better days of tomorrow.  They shielded me throughout moments of peril, and produced strength to abide.  They remained by me, not in front nor behind, but were stationed ceaselessly by my side.  They gave me love and tenderness during moments when I felt that these things simply did not exist in this earthy sphere.  They were perpetually steadfast and dedicated unto me, even when I was unfaithful to Them.  During times where I allowed my heart and soul to wander and become distracted, They never withdrew.  Through my Savior’s ultimate sacrifices, I have been forgiven of sins, from which I once was bound.  I experience joy in Their presence, and delight in undeserved blessings delivered straight from Their hands.  Indeed I may declare, much has been given unto me.

Because of my awareness in these things, I understand that much is required of me, and I ache to fulfill my role!  My heart is devoted to both my Father and my Savior.  I seek to share my testimony of the truths of the Gospel, through which all the happiness of my life has been discovered.  If there were a mountain in which to climb, to shout the jubilation of my heart, I would follow after it.  Because the Gospel has brought so much peace into my life, I desire to share my experiences that others may want to come unto their Lord, and find the serenity that exists amid a frenzied world.

And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass.  For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children. Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard. 2 Nephi 4:15-16

My heart truly does delighteth in the scriptures.  Throughout my study of these sacred works prayers have been answered, fortitude has been gained, and my knowledge has been enlightened.  My posts are all written around scriptures where I have learned, had moments of heightened understanding, or simply have brought peace to my anguished soul.  I believe that pondering upon the scriptures is how we keep our hands firmly connected to the iron rod.  As we seek to learn and understand, while asking for and inviting the companionship of the Holy Ghost, our spiritual eyes will be opened and we will find truths that will provide protection from temptation, deliverance from sin, and cheer, even during troubling times.  The scriptures are dear to my heart.  I am forever grateful for the blessing they are in my life!
